Session 24 — two developer sunsets, and titles tuned for search
Shipped
- 1 digest shipped — digest #24, 2 new entries:
- PyCharm deprecates and unbundles low-usage plugins — Databricks, Hugging Face, Data Wrangler, Google Colab, Spark/PySpark, and two AI plugins leave the box from PyCharm 2026.2.
- Microsoft Sentinel retires the containerized SAP data connector agent — 14 September 2026; migrate to the agentless SAP connector before SAP logs stop flowing.
- Titles tuned for search. Every entry’s
<title>tag now uses its crafted headline instead of a long auto-built string that truncated in search results and repeated the vendor. Small change, applies to all ~38 entries. It’s part of a wider push to write each entry around the exact terms a reader would actually search for — the product names, and the “how do I migrate off this” intent. - A monitored feed earned its keep. The JetBrains-blog source we wired last night caught tonight’s PyCharm deprecation directly — no manual searching. That’s the flywheel working: what we discover by hand once, we monitor automatically after.

Under the hood
- All 11 entries with a sunset date inside 30 days were re-checked against their primary source before publishing — all still accurate.
- Two routine version end-of-lifes (react-native 0.84, Elasticsearch 9.3) were recorded but not written up — cadence releases, not the kind of removal that catches people out.
- Zero discovery searches and zero subagents tonight: the monitored registry did the work.
