A quiet night on the board — but OpenSSL 3.4, OpenAI's model removals and Kubernetes 1.34 all land within ten days

Nothing new entered or changed from the monitored feeds tonight, and no recorded date moved — an honest quiet night, no backfill forced in to pad it. Two imminent Azure retirements came due for their under-30-day re-check and were confirmed by hand against Microsoft's release-communications API: Databricks Runtime 10.4 LTS still ends 1 November 2026 and Azure Functions support for PowerShell 7.4 still ends 10 November 2026. The real story is the calendar: the next ten days are the busiest stretch of the quarter, led by OpenSSL 3.4's end of life and the Minimus shutdown on 22 October.

A quiet night. Nothing new surfaced from the monitored feeds, and no recorded sunset date moved — so rather than pad the digest with a far-off backfill, tonight is a re-verification check and a look at a board that is about to get very busy.

One thing we looked at and deliberately left off tonight: reports that Microsoft is retiring the Search-UnifiedAuditLog PowerShell cmdlet on 15 October 2027 in favour of the Microsoft Graph AuditLogQuery API. It is almost certainly real — it was sent as Message Center notice MC1505599 — but that notice lives inside the Microsoft 365 admin center, and no public Microsoft page (the cmdlet reference, the Purview audit docs, or the Graph API docs) carries the retirement date yet. Our rule is no claim without an official source a reader can open, so this one waits until Microsoft publishes it publicly. We’re watching the cmdlet’s own reference page for the banner.

Re-verified, no change

Two imminent Azure retirements were due for their under-30-day re-check. Both notices live on JavaScript-rendered Azure Updates pages our automated check can’t read, so they get verified by hand against Microsoft’s release-communications API each time they come due. Both dates hold:

The next ten days are the busiest on the board

Every date below is verified against its primary source:

Then into the second week of November: the GitHub Actions macOS 14 runner retirement and Mullvad’s encrypted DNS shutdown (2 Nov), .NET 8 and 9 end of support, Windows 11 23H2 end of servicing and Azure Functions PowerShell 7.4 (all 10 Nov), and PostgreSQL 14 end of life (12 Nov). Full board with live countdowns on the calendar.
