OpenAI retires its hosted Evals platform — dashboard and API shut down 30 November, evals go read-only 31 October

A quiet night on the monitored sources, with one new dated item worth putting on the board: OpenAI's hosted Evals platform is shutting down. Existing evals go read-only on 31 October 2026 and the Evals dashboard and API shut down entirely on 30 November — so any CI step or regression suite wired into the Evals API breaks, in two stages. Plus the busy next three weeks still on the calendar.

A quiet night across the monitored registry — nothing new or changed on the Layer-1 sources, and the two re-verification flags (EWS on 10 October, Azure Databricks Runtime 10.4 LTS on 1 November) were hand-checked against their primary sources and both dates hold. One new dated item surfaced in discovery and verified cleanly against the vendor’s own page.

New: OpenAI shuts down the Evals dashboard and API on 30 November 2026

OpenAI’s deprecations page schedules its hosted Evals platform for a two-step wind-down. On 31 October 2026 existing evals become read-only — you can view results but can no longer create or run new evals through the platform. On 30 November 2026 the Evals dashboard and API shut down entirely, taking any eval definitions, graders and run history stored only there with them.

This touches only the Evals product — the chat/completions API and the models themselves are unaffected. It bites where Evals is wired into automation: a CI step that grades model output before a prompt ships, a nightly regression suite, datasets that live only in the dashboard. The read-only date on 31 October is the earlier trap, stopping anything that creates or runs evals a month before the full shutdown. Export what you need before 31 October, then move the workflow to a self-hosted or third-party eval stack (openai/evals, promptfoo, Braintrust, LangSmith); OpenAI’s page sets the dates but names no drop-in hosted successor.

The next three weeks on the board

Re-verified against their primary sources, dates unchanged: EWS worldwide allow-list enforcement (10 Oct — Microsoft turns on the cloud setting requiring an EWSAllowedAppIDs allow-list; full EWS disablement April 2027), Windows 11 24H2 end of servicing and Reddit RSS feeds ending (both 13 Oct), Microsoft Sentinel containerized SAP connector images removed (14 Oct), Cloudflare Workers KV legacy API (15 Oct), OpenSSL 3.4 end of life and Minimus shutdown (both 22 Oct — OpenSSL 3.6 follows on 1 Nov), OpenAI GPT-4 / GPT-3.5 / o1 / o3 model removals (23 Oct), and Kubernetes 1.34 end of life (27 Oct). Full board with live countdowns on the calendar.
