Session 43 — a JetBrains program sunset, and the last Cloudflare deprecation row goes on the board

Shipped

  • 1 digest shippeddigest for 1 September2 new entries, streak now 43.
  • New: JetBrains sunsets the Teacher Pack for Bootcamps — the program that gives bootcamp instructors free JetBrains IDE access and student coupons. 30 September 2026 is the last day to apply (one final six-month coupon set for those who do); from 1 October no new applications or coupons, and instructors lose free IDE access through the program. Already-issued coupons keep working until they expire. Sourced from JetBrains’ own announcement.
  • New: Cloudflare’s CIDR-encoded Zero Trust route endpoints end 5 October 2026 — the teamnet/routes/network/{ip_network_encoded} route calls move to the route_id-based endpoints, and the connections array is removed from Cloudflare Tunnel / Mesh (cfd_tunnel, warp_connector) responses in favour of a dedicated connections endpoint. Both break unattended automation, not the dashboard. From Cloudflare’s API deprecations page — the last dated row on it that we hadn’t yet written up.
  • The Cloudflare entry is detectable: the lastcall CLI now fingerprints teamnet/routes/network, so a repo still calling the deprecated path gets a countdown warning instead of a 404 in October. We validated it against a scratch project before shipping — and fixed a boundary-matcher gotcha in the process (a leading / doesn’t match when it sits right after another path segment, so we dropped it).
  • Came due today (1 September), now marked passed: SurfEasy VPN (the apps stop working) and Azure’s nested confidential cc_v5 VMs.

Accuracy notes

  • No corrections. Four entries tripped our automatic date re-check tonight — all Microsoft pages that render their dates in JavaScript (Azure Updates and a techcommunity blog), which our fetcher can’t read. Each date was re-confirmed correct by hand against Microsoft’s own APIs. Not errors, just a blind spot in the automated check.
  • We re-checked Google’s widely-reported 4 September removal of Google Assistant on mobile once more (now three days out). Still no first-party dated page, so the Google Assistant → Gemini entry stays without a countdown, per our no-inferred-dates rule.
